The self-titled debut from the Damian Calcagne Band unfolds new traditions of poetic Rock & Americana. Recorded in the bandʼs new studio, inspired by the legendary Bearsville Studios outside of Woodstock, NY, Damian Calcagne Band paints in analogue strokes, compressing colors and tones into dreams & admissions of the modern American subconscious.
During the winter recording sessions, word spread and brought the talents of Tim Carbone & Andy Goessling (Railroad Earth, Phil Lesh & Friends), Dan Myers (From Good Homes) and the songwriting insights of Todd Sheaffer (RRE & From Good Homes frontman & songwriter), who co-wrote End of Side B & In My Daydream. All stopping by to lend a hand with horns violins, and a heady, sonic soul-stirring wah-sax solo.
“I love this record. Heart warming and inspiring. Great songs, great performance, great vibe, great recording and itʼs got a great Jersey song!” – Todd Sheaffer, Railroad Earth, From Good Homes
“Each song is a story deep in melody & hooks that stay in your head long after the session has ended. Damian & band are the genuine article.” – Gene Paul, Recording Engineer – Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin
“Most of us have known Damian a long time from both the great Swampadelica & his work with Toddʼs band From Good Homes. He kicks ass on Hammond organ and writes beautiful tunes. Damianʼs new band is super soulful, sonic & rocking. Weʼre digging being on his new album.” – Tim Carbone, Railroad Earth, Phil Lesh & Friends
“Crisp, poignant songwriting, stellar musicianship. Damian and crew have raised the bar yet again.” – Lenny Bloch, CBS Radio/NYC, Slacker.com
Damian was the founding member of Swampadelica where two of his songs, Mighty High & When She Tells U entered the Top 10 of the Billboard Radio Net Charts. His song Ganesh received steady national airplay on SiriusXM and was named as one of the Top 50 Songs to Jam Your iPod by eMusic & Relix Magazine. As touring keyboardist of From Good Homes, he appears in Reunion, a recent film of 2 sold out nights at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ.
